We plan to plant the remaining third of the matted areas at Floreat dog beach at 9 am this coming Sunday, 16 July. The area to be planted is between paths 13 (which leads to the Floreat Drain, and path 14. Path 13 is mainly limestone-capped and therefore provides easier walking for most of the way to the beach, then a right turn and 100m walk is required to get to the dune blow-out we have matted. It is off the slip-road running north from Floreat Surf Club and opposite the junction of Belford and Chipping Roads, City Beach.
The weather forecast is for “A morning shower in spots; otherwise, intervals of clouds and sunshine” so we suggest it would be wise to bring a showerproof jacket or similar, but hopefully we will just get the sunny intervals.
We hope as many members and volunteers as possible will be able to attend and give Cambridge Coastcare an hour or two of your time. Please bring along friends, neighbours etc too! As usual, we will adjourn to the Floreat kiosk cafe for a coffee etc afterwards. Please put the date and time into your diary.
