Planting Day Sunday 16 June 2019

We are looking for volunteers to attend our first planting day of the year on Sunday week, 16 June, at 9am at track 16 on the Floreat dog-beach – using the back-beach road running north from Floreat Surf Club, it is the last car-park on the left – see map below.  The weather forecast is for a sunny day. Sturdy shoes or boots are needed with hats, long sleeves and trousers recommended.  After the good rain this week-end, we should be able to give the plants we are putting in a good start to life.  Our fences at the dog-beach, built to try to trap blown sand and build back the face of the dunes from the erosion last year, have withstood the first winter storm this year.

Photo taken Monday 10 June am, looking south from track 16 Floreat dog-beach towards the Herdsman drain – waves have reached past the fences in some places but they remain intact for the time being.
